Scars can be unattractive and cause a person to become self-conscious. There are several easy ways to diminish or completely remove a scar in about a week. With a mix of skin exfoliation and some inexpensive ingredients that can probably be found in your kitchen pantry, the scar will be gone in no time.

Honey

Covering the scar with honey is one of the easiest ways to get rid of scars quickly. Apply honey two or three times a day with a cotton ball, smearing on a smooth, consistent layer all over the scar. The honey will add a natural glow to the skin, while also working to diminish the scar. The scar should start to fade away within the first few days of application.

If it's feasible, leave the honey on until the next application, then rinse off with warm water. If you are not able to conduct your daily activities with the layer of honey over the scar, either cover the scar or leave the honey on for 15 to 20 minutes at a time, then rinse.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is known to bleach the skin, in turn fading away scar tissue. Squeeze the juice of a fresh lemon, or use bottled lemon juice. Soak a cotton ball in the lemon juice, and rub over the scar two or three times per day. The scar should begin to fade within the first few days of use.

Olive Oil

Olive oil provides essential nutrients to the skin, which in turn heal blemishes and scar tissue. Soak a cotton ball in olive oil, and apply directly to the scar three or four times per day. The olive oil will work to replenish the skin, thereby fading the scar, and allowing new skin tissue to develop.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is one of the oldest and best-known ways to remove a scar quickly. Vitamin E can be purchased in a tube of cream or in capsule form, with Vitamin E oil inside. If using the cream, rub a small amount over the scar three or four times per day. If using a Vitamin E capsule, puncture one side of the capsule with a needle, and squeeze out a little of the Vitamin E oil. Rub over the scar three or four times per day. Vitamin E is very strong, and only requires a small amount to be effective. Use just enough to spread a thin layer over the skin, and it will quickly absorb into the skin, healing the scar tissue.

Exfoliation

Exfoliation is also necessary in the fast removal of scars. Use a loofah or scrub brush in the shower, along with an exfoliating body wash. Scrub the scarred area twice per day to buff off dead skin cells, allowing the new skin to grow. After exfoliation, use any of the above-mentioned remedies to quickly get rid of a scar.
