Facial treatments are designed to lift away dirt and dead cells from your face while hydrating your skin to freshen your appearance. Honey has been used for thousands of years as a hydrating and softening treatment for skin. The citric acid in lemon juice penetrates dead cells and lifts debris away from your skin. When you properly mix these ingredients, you create a facial mask that you can safely apply to your skin as a revitalizing treatment. Making this mixture requires only a few supplies to complete.
Things You'll Need
Combine 1/2 of a ripe, peeled banana, 3/4 cup honey and 1/8 cup lemon juice into a food processor and secure the lid.
Turn the food processor on high for one minute. Blending the mixture for this period will completely break down the banana and whip air into the treatment for a fluffy texture.
Use a spoon to transfer the face treatment from the food processor into a small plastic container.
Apply a thin, even layer of the facial mask to your skin, covering your lips and face with your fingers. Be careful not to get any of the mixture into your eyes.
Allow the mixture to set on your face for 15 minutes before rinsing with cool water. Allow your skin to air dry.
Store any unused mixture in your refrigerator. Use the mixture within two weeks to prevent it from spoiling.
Do not increase the amount of lemon juice in the facial mixture as you risk damaging your skin.
