Avoid spending money on expensive hairdressers and try some of these simple do-it-yourself hairstyles at home. Dress up your appearance with celebrity-inspired braids or pretty ponytails in just a few minutes.
Laid Back Braids
Frame your hairline by braiding your long bangs into a tight braid and secure with an elastic hair band. Wrap the braid over your head behind your ear and use bobby pins to secure it in place. Grab the rest of your hair and put it into a low ponytail. Take sections of hair from the ponytail, loosely twirl against your head and secure into place with bobby pins. Spray with hairspray.
Create an elegant chignon up-do for shoulder-length hair. Apply volumizer to clean, dry hair and mist with hairspray. Divide hair into three ponytails (left, back, right) and secure with elastic bands. Tease the middle or back pony tail with a paddle brush. Wrap the ponytail clockwise around the elastic to make a bun; use bobby pins to secure in place. Take the right ponytail and pull diagonally over the bun and wrap under, using bobby pins. Repeat this step with the left ponytail. Smooth out the sides with fingers and mist again with hairspray.
Create a simple but elegant twist on the traditional ponytail with a chic pony ‘do. Brush or smooth hair and put into a low back ponytail. Remove a small strand of hair from the bottom of the ponytail. The strand should be about the width of a pen. Wrap the strand around the elastic band and use bobby pins to secure the end to the underside of the ponytail. Tuck in loose ends or any other flyaway hairs. Mist with hairspray.
Make a cute side-swept bun with long hair. Tame hair with serum and comb. Gather hair and make a low side ponytail behind your ear. Secure with an elastic band. Wrap the ponytail into a bun and keep in place with a hair stick. Mist with hairspray.
