Creams contain ingredients, including caffeine and aminophylline, that can aid the body in breaking down stored fat. Some may help reduce cellulite’s appearance slightly, but they aren’t able to get rid of it completely. Regular application every six to eight hours is required for you to notice any benefit, Bill Johnson, MD, a cosmetic specialist in Dallas, told “Fitness” magazine. If you exfoliate the area first, the cream may be better able to penetrate through your skin and target the fat cells. Massage may also help circulation in the specific area in which the cellulite exists and lessen the dimpling slightly, but it doesn’t actually eliminate it. Liposuction can actually worsen the appearance of cellulite.

Protect Yourself

While genes play a role in whether your develop cellulite, certain lifestyle strategies can help diminish its appearance and discourage its development. To avoid developing cellulite, follow a healthy diet plan that includes fresh produce and fiber and drink ample water daily. Regular exercise, particularly strength training, keeps your muscles toned and excess fat at bay. Avoid gaining and losing weight repetitively and, if you smoke, stop.
