Nothing can ruin an otherwise flawless complexion faster than a scar. In addition to causing discoloration on the face, many scars can also have an undesirable texture which makes disguising them all the more challenging. The good news is that with the right makeup application, that little imperfection can be camouflaged instantly.
Prepping Your Skin
Begin by preparing the skin for makeup application. Wash with a gentle cleanser and exfoliating scrub and pat dry; follow with a brightening moisturizer to help decrease redness while increasing luminosity. Smooth on a makeup primer containing silicone, an ingredient designed to fill in scars and hold makeup in place.
Use a foundation brush or an egg-shaped sponge to apply a lightweight yet full-coverage foundation to the entire face. Employ a fine-tipped brush and highly pigmented concealer on problem areas, stippling the product where you need it most. Build coverage with an additional layer of concealer and blend thoroughly. Finish with a lightweight, finely-milled powder to set the makeup in place and further smooth your complexion.
