Castor oil is derived from the castor bean plant. It is rich in fatty acids, making it ideal for beauty treatments. Castor oil is also inexpensive and can be found at your local pharmacy or grocery store. It has a number of uses for the body.

Deep Hair Conditioner

Castor oil is rich in moisture, making it an excellent deep hair conditioner. You simply massage the oil in dry hair until your hair is saturated. Then put on a shower cap and sleep the with the oil on your hair, then wash out in the morning. You can also put a teaspoon’s worth on a comb and brush it through dry hair to add shine and reduce frizz. This is helpful during dry winter months.

Eyelash Treatment

Castor oil can also be used to condition your eyelashes. Eyelashes can become short and thin from lack of moisture. Adding moisture back in by using mascara sparingly and conditioning your lashes can improve how they look and feel. In time your lashes will become thicker and healthier. Simply massage a drop of castor oil on your lashes carefully each night. Avoid getting the oil in your eyes. A little bit goes a long way.

Moisturizer

Castor oil is anti-bacterial, making it an excellent moisturizer for people with acne. The oil will hydrate your skin without clogging your pores. Simply massage in circular motions after washing your face. You can also use castor oil to moisturize your lips.

Try using it on your dry heels and feet, too. Slather the oil all over your body or use it as a massage oil when you spend time with your partner.
